This week: I've actually managed to run every day this week! 5k each day! Woot! I also ran last Friday and Saturday which was nice. Finally working back up to consistant running. I got to Tuesday's run and it was awful. I had to walk 2-3 times for 5k. I couldn't figure it out until I realized that I haven't run so much or so frequently in at least 2 months. So I forgave myself for this week. Tues through Thurs were walk runs but today.... today was fantastic! I ran the entire 5k. I started off slow(er) and when I realized I got to 4:18km and I was going fine I started to up the speed. I didn't let myself look at how fast I was going so I wouldn't psych myself out, but I kept hitting the button every 50meters or so... until the last but where I was going less than 6 min per km and loving it. I was just flying (for me). And I kept running past 5k and upped it a bit more, until I started to get out of breath, so I slowed to cool down. I haven't had such a good run, such an enjoyable run in a long time. I'd almost forgotten. I really hope I can do it again soon!

Yesterday I was able to go for a run! Woot! My heartrate still got up pretty high, 188, but it felt pretty good. And this one wasn't interrupted! Always nice. I set the pace at 6:30 or rather slightly below, so I finished in about 32:25 which I'm quite happy with. The plan is to run on Saturday and then next week to try running 5k every day. We shall see... *tents fingers*.

Wow, so it's been just over two weeks since I've blogged, probably about the same that I've run. It's tax time, so super duper fun! ... So I've been working over time. Honestly part of me was saying that I'd rather stay late than work through my lunch, missing my run, but yeah, not so much. Especially when there was every possibility that I would need to stay late anyway.

So, I did 5k at lunch! I wont even tell you how long it took. It wasn't pretty. It wasn't without stopping. I would say walking too, but honestly I had to switch treadmills because I paused the first one to get paper towels to wipe up my not small amount of sweat but couldn't turn it back on again. Pft. So I moved to the second one (I was at 2.39km of 5) to finish off... well this one wouldn't let you slow down! So when I needed to slow down I had to stop it and restart it. Le sigh. All in all, it did not make for a good run.

Oh, and I finally got my heart rate monitor up and running! Woot! After going to many different stores to try and find the correct watch battery I finally wore it today. My heart rate got up to 190. Oops. That's pretty high even for me. In the heat of summer I tend to get up to around 185... but that's about it, certainly not indoors on a treadmill. I hate how quickly you lose your progress running if you can't run for a few weeks. Oh well.

The plan is to run every day this week. I'm aiming... if I can get my butt out of bed, to go for a run tomorrow morning. We shall see if I actually manage it.

Ah, that brings me to my last point at the moment, supposedly I burned 523 calories during my run! Granted it was about 490 before I walked to the changeroom, and this includes me changing machines and whatnot, but still, wow, what a burn! I'm going to be calling it 400 as I usually try and aim lower if I'm counting these things.
